Behind a golden robe, the 2008 vintage reveals tonic and complex aromas of candied fruits (tangerine, pineapple), delicately enhanced by an exotic touch reminiscent of mango. The attack is dense and lively, the mouth presents a beautiful overall harmony. The acidity of the vintage enhances its sappy character. The finish is long and persistent, deliciously unctuous and fruity. A wine with great potential.
''The frost at the beginning of April strongly reduced the harvest, but thanks to perfect harvesting conditions, the 2008 vintage is powerful and balanced''.
Margaux Reeder
The weather in 2008 was particularly chaotic, with an abnormally hot and humid spring that required the winegrowers to be vigilant at all times to maintain the vineyard in good health. The mediocre summer made us fear the worst, but the extraordinary Indian summer then made us forget the difficulties of the year and allowed us to harvest "à la carte", giving grapes of perfect maturity at the price of very small yields.

Often described as "modern Sauternes", Château Bastor-Lamontagne favours freshness and harmony. Less concentrated than some of its peers, it is a "relaxed" Sauternes as an aperitif and at the beginning of a meal that keeps all its capacity for aging thanks to its beautiful freshness.
