On tasting, Château Bastor-Lamontagne 2000 reveals itself to be remarkably rich and complex. The nose is subtle with notes of white fruits and spices. On the palate, it is dense, well-balanced and surprisingly lively. The finish is very pleasant with a nice length.

A complicated but successful vintage
"The 2000 vintage harvest did not produce the quantity we had hoped for, but the quality was there. The Botrytis has developed well and the wine is very rich in aromas."
As Botrytis developed rapidly on the vines, the harvest began at the end of September. The latter was complicated by persistent rain which did not allow us to harvest the quantities of grapes we had hoped for. Despite these complicated conditions, this vintage developed very well during its 16 months of maturing in stave oak barrels.
Brilliant colour, beautiful intensity with amber reflections.
Pleasant notes of white fruits and spices.
This vintage is dense, well-balanced and surprisingly lively. The long finish is very pleasant.

Often described as "modern Sauternes", Château Bastor-Lamontagne favours freshness and harmony. Less concentrated than some of its peers, it is a "relaxed" Sauternes as an aperitif and at the beginning of a meal, which retains all its capacity for ageing thanks to its beautiful freshness.
