After a rapid flowering at the end of April, May, June and July were hot, we are very close to the precocity of the 2010 vintage. The beginning of autumn is very wet, we have to sort out the grapes quickly, fortunately the coolness of the mornings and the beautiful days are back at the beginning of October, followed by a harvest of grapes with hints of citrus fruit and honey".
Margaux Reeder
The beginning of the year was relatively mild and very wet, allowing us to have an early budburst, however we suffered two consecutive frosts in April reducing the harvest by 60%. The months of May to August were a relatively dry period allowing us to have some respite. We had to wait for botrytis to set in following the rainy spells in September. The harvest began at the end of September and finished in mid-October.
Deep gold colour
Complex apricot and slightly spicy nose (white pepper, ginger) enhanced by notes of clementine.
The attack is dense, with a beautiful freshness. One finds aromas of pineapple, exotic fruits and vanilla. This wine has a nice structure and finishes with a nice tension.

"Pineapple, a little quince, slightly saffron. Ample and generous in the mouth, precision, very beautiful final bitterness. Vintage after vintage, Bastor-Lamontagne finds its cruising speed and offers us a very good value for money in this appellation. "Terres de Vins 93/100 "Intense tangerine and clementine notes race through, carried by hints of almond cream, white ginger and creamed peach. Offers a lovely rounded feel on the finish." Often described as "modern Sauternes", Château Bastor-Lamontagne favours freshness and harmony. Less concentrated than some of its peers, it is a "relaxed" Sauternes as an aperitif and at the beginning of a meal, which retains all its capacity for ageing thanks to its beautiful freshness.
